Shine Bright Like a Diamond

Shine bright like a diamond. And I don't mean the song. Lately I've been thinking about how we are afraid to be different because we worry that people will judge or speak negatively about us. While this is true, we have to learn to stand out because sometimes we have to be the example to others that may be afraid to stand out.

Whatever the case may be, shining bright like a diamond in the midst of darkness is what will set you apart and show how different you are. Diamonds can be rare and expensive so you must acknowledge that you are unique and different. And that's okay! If everyone was the same and no one decided to stand out and shine then life would be very boring.

It's like when all the lights go out and the only source of light at the moment would be a candle. You decide to light the candle but then put it under the table. Does that make sense? Of course not because the reason you lid the candle was to shine and provide light and it can't do that under a table. So you place the candle on the counter which then lights up the room. In the same token, we must shine bright for those around us that may feel like they're drowning in darkness or struggles. We should be a light and shine for them while they get through their problems. Be a positive expression to your friends or family members that are struggling and remind them that there's always a light at the end of the tunnel.
