Skincare Product Review: Stratosphere

Just one week ago, I discovered what has officially become my new daily skin-care routine.  I joined the likes of Gwyneth Paltrow, Kate Middleton, Victoria Beckham, Kate Hudson and Michelle Pfeiffer in trying Stratosphere- a range of products from Heaven by Deborah Mitchell.  Because I have fair and sensitive skin, I make an effort to choose organic and natural products whenever I can [afford them].  When I heard about Stratosphere, a revolutionary line that utilizes bee venom and ancient herbal remedies, my curiosity was piqued to say the least.  Then, I did a little research on Deborah Mitchell and found out that she has over 25 years of experience in skincare.  I was convinced that I had to try it myself to find out how this all worked.  Needless to say, as soon as I got my hands on a few of these products, I knew that I had found my perfect match.



I started with the New Edition Cleansing Cream. It is the first bee venom cleanser in the world and it acts as a natural botulinum injectable alternative.  I’m only in my 20’s, so I can’t say I have much interest in botox, but it really has made my skin feel firmer.  I have been using it to remove my makeup and it works like a dream with minimal scrubbing and no residue after one rinse.  The cream is an extremely lightweight, fragrance-free formula that is available in 3 sizes: 10ml, 30ml and 120ml from $23.25-$96.96.

After drying my face, I apply Bee Polish- a thick, clear formula that makes skin tingle as it gets to work on a slew of great benefits.  I was really curious about this one because I could feel it working, so I checked the website to get some more info.  Mitchell says it works because it’s comprised of “Bee venom and botulism spores naturally found in the hive with raw cane sugar [dissolving] pigment lines and scarring.”  After rinsing the polish off with warm water, my face feels smooth and my skin tone is so even that I’ve been able to lighten my makeup usage.  Not only is it making my morning makeup routine quicker, it’s saving me money because I don’t use as much product.  Can you say win-win? Acting as a non-abrasive exfoliator, it helps to boost skin’s immunity, extract toxins, remove dead skin cells and lighten the pigmentation of your skin- officially making Bee Polish the real MVP.  I can attest to the fact that my fair skin has become much softer and more even in color since I began using this product.  It also has anti-aging benefits; smoothing fine lines and wrinkles along the way.  Bee Polish can be purchased in a 10ml bottle for $23.25 or a 30ml bottle for $77.50.

Next up, is the Youthful Moisturizer.  It is lightweight, non-greasy and super moisturizing, which has become especially necessary after the rough winter we are just barely escaping from here in Chicago.  This moisturizer does more than just heal dry skin, it also helps open and clear pores, repairs skin tissue, balances skin’s oils and evens skin tone.   I will point out that I personally had one issue with this product: the scent is a little strong and I can’t quite put my finger on it. I can only smell it when I’m applying it, and the scent fades pretty quickly but it does bother me when I'm putting it on.  However, I have had so many problems with moisturizers making me break out in the past that I love how well this product actually worked for me and I'm more than willing to look past it as long as I'm not smelling it all day.  A quick, easy and no-fuss product like this one is great if you don’t have a lot of time to spend on an intense skin-care routine like the one I am painting a picture of, but want to reap some of the awesome benefits of Stratosphere.  It’s available in 2 sizes: 10ml and 30ml for $23.25- $58.59.

Last but certainly not least, I apply the Chamomile Desensitizing Hydragel before I put on my makeup.  This product claims it can desensitize skin so that it will no longer have negative reactions to skin care products used in the future.  Smart move, Deborah Mitchell, because I won’t be using any other skin care products to test that theory after the luck that I’ve had with this line.  The Hydragel has the look and light consistency of aloe vera.  It is hypo-allergenic, anti-inflammatory and very hydrating.  The organic chamomile and rose essential oils have also addressed my skin’s redness and can reduce fine lines and wrinkles.  I have been using it as a primer and to fight puffiness under my eyes when I don’t get enough sleep.  You can get your hands on it in a 10ml bottle for $23.25, 30ml for $56.03 or even 120ml for $123.15.
