The decor of a restaurant can tell so much, right when you walk through the door. The lighting, the furniture, the flooring; it all plays a part in creating a desired ambiance, eager to draw you in, to relax and stay awhile.
On Wednesday, March 11th, Seven Lions opened their doors for an official opening reception. Guests were invited to enjoy craft cocktails and samplings of the menu, prepared by Executive Chef Chris Curren. This multilevel restaurant and bar features two additional dinning/event spaces on the main floor, as well as a complete lower level. The multifunctional floor plan of the space allows for a large gathering or an intimate dinner.
Aside from my admitted love for lighting fixtures, I was immediately taken by the rustic, meets elegant decoration. The combination of worn wood walls and velvet cushioned seats had me feeling like I was tucked away in my favorite West Loop hang out, while I was in fact sipping surprisingly artistic cocktails on Michigan Avenue.
