The Great Bitter Bar at Eataly Chicago

Eataly USA is bringing The Great Bitter Bar across the U.S.! Cocktail lovers will be able to follow the spirited "Grand Tour" to experience and get to know that exclusive signature cocktails created by Eataly and its bitter producers such as Fernet-Branca, who share values of tradition and quality- with a dash of spirit.

Inspired by the roaring 20's and the Art Nouveau period, The Great Bitter Bar is a pop-up bar that will be hosted at all Eataly USA locations during the year. The menu us dedicated to vintage apothecary cocktails with the iconic herbal flavors of Fernet-Branca, which has been crafted according to a secret family recipe in Milan since 1845.

Eataly NYC Flatrion kicked off the collaboration, hosting The Great Bitter Bar before making the arrival to Chicago! Afterwards, The Great Bitter Bar will travel to Eataly in Boston, LA, and finally circling back to the Big Apple at Eataly NYC Downtown.

The Great Bitter Bar is only available at La Piazza through April 1st. Explore and savor the vintage, apothecary cocktails such as Fernet-About-It (Frenet-Branca, Yellow Charteuse, simple syrup, and lime juice), exclusively at the Chicago Location.

Fun Fact: For the longest time Fernet-Branca was considered to be the bartender's/industry handshake because you had to be in the know to drink it. If you went to a bar and ordered a shot of Fernet the bartender would ask where you worked at, because only servers and bartenders were drinking it at the time because it was a great hangover cure.

Not big on cocktails, try out a Fernet Cola. An Argentina Favorite! Highly recommended by Fratelli Branca Portfolio Manger, Pete Gugni.

Don't miss out and enjoy a cocktail at The Great Bitter Bar available from 11 a.m to 10 p.m Monday through Thursday and 1-8 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday through April 1st.
