Halfstack's Giving issue is about to be released in just a few short weeks and each week we have a new spotlight on a blogger who is making a difference in the community. This week meet my girl Mindy Scott of Mindy City Beauty. Here is a short interview about Mindy, so you can get to know her before the AMAZING event that Halfstack is planning with Eloquii's Shops at Northbridge location. What is your
Favorite Style? I love a good matching set! I am also really into mixing
patterns!
How would you
describe your personal style? Fun and adventurous.
What are you
thankful for? I am thankful for my family and friends! But beyond that I am
thankful for my health and ambition. I love having the power to be creative in
my professional role and by doing hair and makeup for weddings. Working hard
pays off and I am thankful that I am able to chase my dreams.
Working at a non-profit that works to empower women and
girls, I have seen that many are not as fortunate as I. I am able to choose who
I want to be and I want to make sure to pay it forward by helpful others and
living to my full potential.
What does
"POSITIVITY" mean to you? Positivity means mindfulness to me! Being in the moment
and being kind to others. Why can’t we all be and do what we want? I don’t
understand why people get so offended by others.... just be nice! It’s not that
hard.
Tell us what your
blog is all about! We want to know YOU! I work full time for CARE, a global non -profit and I
love my job! We believe hat we can end global poverty by empowering women and
girls! I recently was able to see our work in action during a visit to see our
programs to end Gender Based violence in Ecuador!
I also have my own business doing hair and makeup for
weddings - Mindy City Weddings and we just won best of theknot again this year,
putting my company in the “best of hall of fame!” Beyond that I also love
clothes and have a blog called @howitfitsplus that I run with my friend Gena!
Plus size trends
that you are super excited about?! I’m really into pattern play.... mixing
sequins with a pattern shirt and adding bold earrings. I’m all about having in
with my clothes.
Staple pieces in
your collection, and why? I can’t live without my fit and flare dresses from
eloquii. I have a few already and I know that every time I put it on I will
look and feel good/ ready to take on the day and present my best self! When I
have clothes that fit and are colorful I don’t have to worry about how they
fit. Instead, I can focus on the task at hand! I am also obsessed with my pinstripe joggers with
matching crop top! It is the perfect look for many occasions with comfy shoes
and a leather jacket, I can wear this anywhere!
Why do you LOVE
Eloquii? I love eloquii because they make fashion forward, fun,
clothes in my size! What’s not to love! They also truly care about their
customers and have created special for options from Viola and Gena to tall or
petite!
Best advise you
can give to women for their future? Do what makes you happy and give back whenever you can!
We all have time, talent, and treasures to share.... so I ask, what do you plan
to do with yours and who do you plan to help? Remember that together we achieve
more!
What are you known
for/What do people say about you? (think of your signature thing that you are
remembered by) I don’t know, but I hope they say that I’ve helped them!
From encouraging them to just try something on, to supporting them in their
creative endeavors. I truly just love people and do my best to help others no
matter if it’s big or small.
