1st Annual Milwaukee Krampusnacht

Last night I tracked my sleigh up North to Lakefront Brewery for Milwaukee Paranormal Conference's 1st Annual Krampusnacht. T'was night of spreading Christmas Fear celebrating the man of the hour, Krampus.
Krampus? Who/What in the world is this frightening creature? Krampus is an anthropomorphic horned figure, often described as "half-demon","half-goat". He is often considered to be Saint Nicholas' evil counterpart. Every year on December 5th, which is considered as "Krampushnacht", is the night in which Krampus either punishes the naughty children with a stern spanking with his switch made of birch or collects them in the basket on his back...never to return. Parents would often threaten their children with a visit from Krampus to keep them from misbehaving during the holiday season. The folklore dates all the way back to Pre-Christian Europe.
The night kicked off with a Krampus parade consisting of 60+ Krampi (I assume that is the plural of Krampus, but I could be wrong), Dark and Nice Angels and a few St. Nicks.
There were also 14 vendors selling everything from art prints to jewelry. Along with Krampus Gear, the prefect holiday gift.
Cut It Out Studios
The Sweet Shieks and The Squeezettes provided musical entertainment for a Krampus Dance Party.

Needless to say the 1st Annual Milwaukee Krampusnacht was a success. Naughty or Nice,  Krampusnacht is the prefect holiday event to get you in the spooktaculuar holiday mood.  I can't wait until next year!
