A night out on the town is always more fun when hopping around to a few different bars for a change in atmosphere and menu offerings. Even better is when you can stay in the same building!
Dana Hotel and Spa, located downtown at 660 N State St., recently expanded their beverage offerings to three different floors. On the lobby level, you can enjoy artisan cocktails at Leviathan. Inspired by the sea monster from the book of the same name, this spacious lounge offers mystical cocktails with names like like Davy Jones Locker and Kraken.
On the second floor you'll find Portsmith, where you can feed your appetite for not only specialty cocktails, but also fresh seafood. Conceived and managed by Chicago-based Fifty/50 Restaurant Group, this elegant restaurant and bar offers everything from shucked oysters to Maine lobster.
The finale, Apogee Lounge, is located on the rooftop, 26 floors up. I can quite honestly say, I have never been anywhere else in Chicago that serves as elaborate and beautiful cocktails as Apogee does. The Nymph cocktail for example, is served with an ice cube that contains a whole flower, and is topped with a delicate, edible butterfly!
Next time you have a craving for a one-of-a-kind cocktail, head on over to the Dana Hotel and enjoy one of their amazing bars...or if you're feeling up to the challenge, all three!
