No matter what herringbone piece suits you best, I suggest investing in one for the fall, since you will get so much wear out of it. The herringbone piece that I decided to add to my wardrobe for the fall is a herringbone blazer.
Here are my five tips to make a herringbone blazer work for you this fall:
1. Pair it with Jeans. You can't go wrong with a herringbone blazer and distressed jeans. Just add your favorite tee and a cool ankle boot and you are set for a casual, fall day.
2. Add a Pop of Color. Whether you add a bright red, blue or any other color that makes you happy, herringbone acts as the perfect neutral to any hue. Choose a colored blouse, handbag or shoe for the most impact.
3. Go bold. While a herringbone blazer may be bold in itself, it is equally as classic, so you have some room to play with modern pieces like over-the-knee boots. I chose a black, suede pair for an edgy take.
4. Mix Proportions. This blazer is oversized, so you can add fitted or shorter pieces (choose one, not both). For example, I added these loose black, leather shorts for an unexpected pairing.
