We've written about young author: Aaron Ozee in the past. He's back again and this time, with a beautifully illustrated and thoughtfully written children's book: Regulus. The story highlights the King among the mice and eater of all the cheese. Regulus, the lord of all squeaking feuds within the wall, is betrayed by those closest to him for the ego he holds so high. Struggles between the just and wicked come to pass in this paramount tale of the darkest and brightest sights in our lives. It's a lovely story that holds a wonderful message for children and the illustrations by Nikita Garets truly bring his words to life.
The storyline behind Regulus originally manifested as an idea for a poem as Aaron Ozee was beginning to work on a new anthology, but it quickly morphed into a brilliant concept for a new publication. Aaron Ozee saw this as the perfect opportunity to release a follow up to his first bestselling children’s book, My Darling Child Shiloh, which debuted in the market back in 2016.
To craft unique visuals that would appropriately communicate the best details of each scene in the story, Aaron Ozee embarked on an extensive search to find an illustrator with enough skill to take on such a monumental project. After commissioning several candidates he believed to be right for the job, a Ukrainian artist named Nikita Garets was selected based on her masterful abilities. Together, Aaron and Nikita worked for over two months to finish all 24 illustrations.
