Kickstart a Kickstarter: Leche Libre Plus Size Line

One of our favorite female empowered, mama focused nursing brand: Leche Libre is at it again! They launched a new Kickstarter campaign to raise funds to add a fabulous plus size range to their collection.

After raising over $43K in an incredibl successful Kickstarter for an edgy collection of stylish breastfeeding apparel last year, Leche Libre is doing  it again with a new plus size collection. The size range is created for moms in sizes 16W - 26W. Leche Libre scheduled their launch of this newest Kickstarter to coincide with World Breastfeeding Week and National Breastfeeding Awareness month.

This Leche Libre collection is known for it's edgy,  fashion-forward and breastfeeding apparel. When we think about those terms, they rarely mix, and plus size moms have  even fewer options in general. Wearing something beyond the basic camisoles can make breastfeeding or pumping on the go an awkward and even uncomfortable experience that’s far from body positive. The Leche Libre brand is working hard to ensure that they are changing this narrative for the breastfeeding mama.

Leche Libre founder, Andrea Newberry, wanted to create a collection that would give plus moms access to the same zip-and-sip concept that made the first Kickstarter successful. “The average American woman is size 18, and over half of nursing women in the US have no options for stylish breastfeeding clothing. Leche Libre is going to change that.” Newberry says. Teaming up with plus fashion designer Casey Sunich and inclusive wardrobe stylist Kat Eves, Newberry has designed a truly body positive plus collection that celebrates moms’ curves in all shapes and sizes.
