How to Style: Summer Kimonos

No matter where you look this summer, boho chic styles can be seen. From flares to printed maxis, there are a variety of garments that can be found featuring florals, fringe, and tassels. However, one of my favorite bohemian pieces for the summer is a kimono in a gorgeous print. This garment is perfect for layering, even when the temps are in the upper 80s. Below are my five tips on styling this key summer piece:

1. Layer Over a Dress. Layer your kimono over a dress that is fitted to contrast the silhouettes and balance the overall look. Choose a dress that is in color that ties into the print of your kimono.

2. Style with Shorts. A pair of denim shorts styled with a tee and kimono will be your go-to summer look. This ensemble is effortless, but still looks pulled together for any hot summer day.

3. Add on Bohemian Extras. A pair of round sunglasses, fringe necklaces, and block heels are 70s inspired accessories that really go with the vibe of the kimono.

4. Belt it. Kimonos can often be very overwhelming due to the immense amount of fabric. However, to define your waist add a belt, which pulls the eye in. A belt really gives the kimono and your entire look shape.
