The One

Everyone talks about it at some point in their life. It either gets brought up during a dinner when the mother or father asks about marriage and grandkids or it gets brought up in an intense conversation with a friend. It's even in fairy tale stories where love is in the air. In real life, though, that's not always the case. Nowadays, young women sell themselves short by being with someone who doesn't respect or treat them right. Instead of just waiting for the one.

I know we've all heard about waiting for the one. It feels like a broken record but to be honest, waiting is so rewarding in the end. I know it's nice to have someone and be in love. There's nothing wrong with that. It is rewarding and satisfying when it's with the one you desire to spend the rest of your life with. Why waste your time with someone who doesn't show you respect? It's so sad to see young women caught in that cycle and then they wonder why they aren't married yet.

Waiting is not easy. It requires patience and a ton of discipline but in the end it is amazing to know that you kept yourself for someone that you truly care about. Waiting simply means you have time to get to know who you are first. It means you get to experience life with yourself before having to share it with someone else. Instead of hooking up just to feel like someone likes you, stop and think about the hurt and pain at the end of that relationship. Wait for someone that is willing to treat you with respect and honor. Wait for someone that never wants to leave your side. While you wait, explore life and enjoy the single moments!
