The purpose of this show is not only to show off the skills of the students but to also raise money for a charity. This year the Event and Fashion Show Production students decided to support and raise money for the Midwest Shelter for Homeless Veterans. This organization is located in Wheaton, Illinois. They focus on providing veterans and their families with a place to live and provide services to improve self-efficiency. Their vision is to ensure that no veteran is left behind due to homelessness, joblessness, poverty and/or mental-health issues. Their desire is to ease suffering to become productive members of their communities
The “Pulse Presents – Transform” fashion show is entirely run by the Fashion Show Production students, along with the help of peers from other programs. The students work throughout the quarter to create an aesthetically pleasing and exciting experience for attendees of the event. They do everything from choosing the theme, the staging, the models, the hair and makeup, the styling, managing the budget, fundraising, and informing the public about the event through different medias. All of the efforts and proceeds made from the fashion show will go to the Midwest Shelter for Homeless Veterans. The Midwest Shelter for Homeless Veterans is a local organization that focuses on providing veterans and their families with a place to live and providing services to improve self-efficiency.
