FFS at The Vic

FFS is a supergroup consisting of the members of the bands Franz Ferdinand and Sparks. You may wonder what happens when these two bands come together? Together, the two lead singers bring a big personality and an unforgettable night of music. On October 8th, FFS graced the stage at The Vic and performed in a packed venue of excited fans. I was lucky enough to witness the rare performance of this mega-band.

The band has a very unique sound that is unlike their individual, respective styles. With songs that are more electropop than each band's usual alternative or rock, it was hard for the audience, including myself, not to dance, or at least sway, along with the band.

One of my favorite moments of the night was when the band did a surprise performance of Franz Ferdinand's hit song "Take Me Out". As soon as the band began the song, the audience jumped and sang along to every word as Russel Mael (frontman of Sparks) and Alex Kapranos (frontman of Franz Ferdinand) sang together with their combined their powerhouse vocals, giving the song a powerful and interesting twist.

FFS is truly a gift to us all and I can't wait to see what else they'll come up with next! I hope there will be more great music released by this collaborative group! Keep up with the band through their Facebook and Instagram.
