Walk The Moon DJ Set at Headquarters

With every great music festival comes the expectation of killer after shows!  Over the past few years, after shows have become almost as anticipated as the festivals they trail.  Offering a more intimate venue and an opportunity to get up close and personal with your favorite bands, after shows are selling out faster than ever.

This year's Lollapalooza festival did not disappoint!  More than 50 after shows featuring Lolla 2015 performers took place all over the city of Chicago, spanning from Thursday, July 30th to Sunday, August 2nd.

On Saturday, August 1st, Walk The Moon fans got a special opportunity to see bass guitarist, Kevin Ray, DJ at Headquarters Beercade in Lakeview.  All guests who showed their wristbands at the bar that evening received a drink on the house while they listened to his eclectic beats.


Ray started the set by playing the intro to The Lion King, which is currently Walk The Moon's opening for their live performances.  The rest of the set was an upbeat mix of indie rock, hip hop and the occasional mash up.

Contrary to his upbeat, zanny stage presence when performing with Walk The Moon, Ray's demeanor was very focused.  When I spoke with him earlier that day at Lolla about his upcoming DJ set, he admitted he was a bit nervous, since DJing is a new venture for him, but he was looking forward to it.

Ray kept the crowd dancing well into the night as they played a variety of arcade games and enjoyed Headquarter's impressive food and beverage offerings.  With another amazing after show for the books, It was the perfect end to day two of Lolla 2015!
