Simple and Easy Summer Make Up Tutorial | HSM x Not A Size Zero

Summer is my favorite season of the year; but, with the great heat comes great responsibilities to make sure your make up stays in place. Let me show you how I created this look that will be sure to stay put during your Summer adventures!

Make sure you watch the video, so you can get more tips on this Summer look.

Face:
The key to a make up that will last is prep. Make sure you use a primer that works well for your skin. There are specific primers for specific purposes like correct the discoloration in your skin or make your pores look smaller, but the main purpose of a primer is to be a barrier between your skin and the make up. Primers help in smoothing the skin and it helps is evening your skin tone for a better foundation application. I used the Smashbox PhotoFinish Primer, $36.00.

Speaking of foundations, I prefer using a foundation that has great coverage, light on my face and has SPF. which is why I chose the Benefit Hello Flawless Oxygen Wow foundation in All the Rage Beige, $36.00.

Concealers are a must for me. It helps in hiding imperfections that the foundation did not cover. It also serves as a highlighter for my face. Check out the video to see how I apply my concealer. I used the NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer in Custard, $29.00.

Give your face some color with a cream blush. Personally, I like a cream blush during Summer. It looks more natural and it makes your skin look healthy and glowing. For this look, I chose my Rimmel Stay Blushed Cream Blush in Pop of Pink, $2.97.

Another must for a Summer look is bronzer. Keeping tans on your face is hard because you wash your face twice a day, so your face and your body's skin tone usually differ. That's where a bronzer comes into play. I used the bronzer that is in the I dream of Sugar All Over Face Makeup palette, $20.00.

A couple of things I forgot to mention in the video is to set your make up with powder and a setting spray. You can choose any powder that works well with your skin. I've been loving the Rimmel Stay Matte powder in Nude Beige, $3.99.

This is my favorite setting spray. It not only does a great job of setting my make up, but it also give my face a luminous and natural look. If you're looking to try a great setting spray, I recommend Make Up Forever Mist and Fix, $30.00

Eyes:
Eye brows frame the face. It is important that your eyebrows are on fleek, because it makes or breaks your look. I love using powder or pencil on my eyebrows. It's easier to manage and it looks more natural. Right now, I'm using Anastasia Brow Powder Duo in Carmel, $23.00

After filling the sparse areas of your eyebrows, make sure they stay that way by using a gel. I fell back in love with the Maybelline Browdrama in Soft Brown, $ 7.99

Check out the video on top and see how I used the I dream of Sugar All Over Face Makeup Palette for this look.

Eye liner gels are the only way for me to make the perfect winged liner. I use an angled liner brush and dip it in my gel liner. I follow my waterline with the bottom of my angled brush to create the wing. I line my eye and merge the two lines. I always use my Starry Eyeliner Gel in Black Asphalt, $5.10

I top my gel liner with a liquid liner. It helps keep my liner on the whole day. No one does great liquid liners better than Kat Von D. I love her Ink Liner in Trooper, $19.00.

Priming doesn't only work for your face. Your eyelashes will get the loving they deserve if you prime them with Urban Decay's Subversion, $20.00

Top it off with you favorite mascara and you eyes are done! I'm currently using NYX Pin Up Tease, $5.99

Lips:
The last thing you want to do is to dress your lips with your favorite lipstick. I've been loving the nude natural look. All I need is my trusty lip liner - Rimmel 1000 Kisses Lip Liner in Wild Clover, $2.99
