"Blue" by JMSN: Album Review

The singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist JMSN released his self-titled, second full-length album last December. The artist, originally from Detroit, currently resides in Los Angeles where he works, not only as a musician, but as a producer, mixer, engineer, and videographer.

JMSN is known for his unique, addictive, R&B sound. He is sometimes compared to his fellow R&B artist The Weeknd. His music can be very relaxing and ambient. It is perfect for when you need to take a break from your busy schedule, focus on a task, or simply need to unwind while listening to a chill song.

The singer's talent is apparent when you listen to any one of his songs. He has been notably recognized and praised by publications like The Guardian and by fellow artists like Usher, often being considered fresh and full of potential. JMSN was able to prove himself and his talent when he was chosen to collaborate with the rapper Kendrick Lemar on his successful 2012 album "Good Kid, M.A.A.D. City" on four tracks including the hit "Bitch, Don't Kill My Vibe".

As for his own work, JMSN was able to release his second album in December of 2014. Last month, JMSN debuted his new music video for his song called "My Way". The video can be seen here. The music video is filmed in the style of the 1990's and has a fun vibe. It will feel as if you're watching a cheesy karaoke lyric video from the 90's.

If you like JMSN, then you're in luck because he is currently on tour. He will be playing a show in Chicago at the Subterranean on the 22nd of this month. Definitely check him out if you can!
