You know a band is sure to be amazing
with a name like Ha Ha Tonka! On Saturday, November 29th, Ha Ha Tonka
played to a full room (and balcony) at Subterranean in Wicker Park.
Opening the show, Michael Chorvat and
The Damn Choir set the mood with their punk/rock sounds. After much anticipation, Haha Tonka took the
quaint stage with full force. Originating
from Missouri, this four-man group delivers a punchy attitude and upbeat,
indie rock tunes.
They played a large selection of songs from their latest album, Lessons, as well as some old favorites. When they started to play Colorful Kids, everyone cheered! The crowed sang along and swayed to the music, while the band encouraged them with smiling faces. Haha Tonka's lively stage presence and obvious love for their fans made this show a memorable one.
Signed with Chicago label, Bloodshot Records, I am sure Haha Tonka will be no stranger to the many venues of Chicago. For a list of upcoming shows and updates with the band, check out their website, www.hahatonkamusic.com.
