We have so many burdens on us as adults that we often make decisions based off of obligations, rather than what we truly need or want. Now, I am not saying go out and be irresponsible or make terrible decisions that will scar you for life. But, I am saying try new things. Do something different. If you want to see change, you can't be afraid of changing things up. Be inspired.
As a creative, I often feel this tug of war between "what people expect of me" in terms of a career and what my goals and dreams are. I often face creative blocks or find myself looking at my work as "work" instead of enjoying it. I stop myself lately and rewind my thoughts because how can I create to the best of my ability if I am not able to enjoy the process? I often wonder why the two sides of my brain battle it out. The business and logical side vs. the creative and dreamer side. I also had this sudden realization that life has gone by so quickly. I'm turning 29 in November and the last month I was incredibly nostalgic about the past 15 years. As an artist, this has left me wondering can I still be creative the older I get? I read this great article recently, on the Washington Post that highlighted a woman who was going through a similar thought process. You can check it out here. It just inspired me to rethink things and keep forging on. I have to have an open mind, right?
So, today's downloadable - designed by Shaylee Emert is just a little reminder to be open, get inspired and just create. You can download it here. Just remember to click more and select download the image.
