Halfstack Highlights Ep. 13- Interview with Chicago's own Shermin Kruse

In todays episode of Halfstack Highlights, Editor-in-chief: Jen Lezan, speaks with local Chicago lawyer and author - Shermin Kruse about her latest book - "Butterfly Stitching". They discuss details of the book, human rights on a global level and her journey as an Iranian woman. Throughout the episode, Shermin shares her journey as an emigrant, the inspiration behind her book as well as her adventure into becoming a published author. We also discuss how millennials can find their path as they navigate the murky waters of young adulthood.

Butterfly Stitching is a beautifully written Narrative that follows the story of an Iranian mother and daughter through the trials and tribulations of life. Their journey is set against some of the most historical turbulent times of the Persian culture. Despite the oppression that Persian women face, Shermin does an amazing job of showcasing the gritty strength and pride that Iranian women have. She shares an image of these women, who are often stereotyped, from quite a different perspective than what many would guess. She shares the intelligence, the drive and the love that Iranian women endure.
