Transform Yourself into an Old Hollywood Starlet

I don't know about you, but I LOVE watching Red Carpet Events.  Especially Hollywood's biggest night; The Oscars.  And like most people, I care more about what everyone is wearing and the hair and makeup versus who actually wins.... 

Better late than never...  One style that caught my attention just a few short weeks ago at the Oscar's was the Old Hollywood Side Swept Hair look.  This duo looks absolutely stunning on Sandra Bullock, Kate Hudson and Jessica Biel.  

And thanks to the expert advice of Celebrity Hairstylist, Oscar Blandi, we can all transform ourselves into Old Hollywood Starlets!  Just follow these simple steps... 

 






























1.  Blow dry your hair straight.  If you have hard-to-curl hair like myself, try applying Oscar Blandi's Hair Lift Mousse before drying.

2.  Part your hair on the side. 

3.  Using a 1" iron, wrap 4-6 inches of hair around in a spiral.  Oscar recommends using the Cortex Curling Wand.  The key to achieving a spiral wave is to make sure the iron is in a vertical position, not horizontal.  

4.  Use a sculpting pomade to create a shiny, smooth finish and to control any flyaways.  Try using Oscar Blandi's Pronto Dry Sculpting Pomade.

5.  Pull hair over one shoulder to mimic Sandra's look and spray to secure.  Oscar recommends using Oscar Blandi's Lacca Medium Hold Hairspray.
