Do you remember Carrie
Bradshaw being mugged of her beloved Manolo Blahnik’s down a New York City
Street? Or when Carrie had her shoes unexpectedly snatched at a friend’s baby
shower? What about when she lost her “choo” trying to catch the ferry? Shoes go
hand in hand when speaking about Carrie Bradshaw. The “mother” to all of us
shoe addicts if you will. So when the news came out that Sarah Jessica Parker
was designing a shoe collection, it seemed like all of our shoe prayers had
been answered!
It’s rare that you get to
see your real life fashion icon in person, much less standing about a foot away
from you! For this lucky girl, it became reality when I got the opportunity to
cover Sarah Jessica Parker’s shoe collection at Nordstrom! Sarah Jessica made a
stop to the Michigan Avenue Nordstrom location where she met with media and
spent time signing customers SJP’s. And for this shoe aficionado and Carrie
Bradshaw fan, this collection was the opportunity to see the woman that sparked
so much of her love of fashion!
Sarah Jessica Parker teamed
up with business partner and Manolo Blahnik USA President George Malkemus to
create her first long awaited collection. The SJP collection is a
Nordstrom-exclusive collection of shoes, handbags and even a coat! The beautiful
shoes from this collection were handcrafted in Italy and are of amazing quality!
Shoes Carrie Bradshaw would max her credit card out for! The collection was
designed in various silhouettes and styles to fit every woman’s personality.
However, they all maintained one attribute, the classic single sole; A timeless
style that fits a wide range of women. Sarah Jessica pulled inspiration from
her childhood as seen in the grosgrain ribbon detail on each shoe, legendary
designer Maud Frizon and of course, the legendary character on Sex and the
City, Carrie Bradshaw. As an ode to her inspirations she named one shoe “Maud”
and of course another “Carrie”. For all of us that love shoes this collection
is a dream. Exactly what our spring closet’s needed this season!
The shoe prices range from
$195 to just under $500, bags range from $245 to $375 and the trench is
