Get Fit while Watching the Super Bowl!! A Super Bowl Inspired Workout!

This Sunday, most of us will be glued to the TV watching the Super Bowl Show Down.  What most of us don't know is that you can get a FULL workout during the half-time show (yes, while still watching Bruno Mars & the Red Hot Chili Peppers).  All you have to do is follow these tips from Celebrity Trainer, Gino Caccavale to get us each into tip-top shape for a day full of football!

FOOTBALL MOVES FOR SUPERBOWL WEEK

Football trainers have to train hard in order to explode from zero to 60 in a second flat, while having the ability to change directions on a dime.  Unlike a baseball player that gets to swing the bat a couple of times first, a football player has to "freeze" for 3-5 seconds and then launch into action.

So use these simple moves to help you train hard like all of your favorite players on the field.  Remember that halftime is 30 minutes. Just enough time to get your workout out while watching the tube!

1. HEISMAN ( or maybe Heisman lunge)
- A side to side movement with high knees (holding ball) (123 heisman)
-Watch this video for a quick demo on how to do properly

2. POP UP / POP IN (use football or just floor)
- An explosive upper body movement. Most people think of explosive as legs and hips. Here is a case where your core and upper body is challenge
-Watch example here.

3. TOUCH AND PUMP (3 point football stance)
- Start standing, touch floor on one leg
- Lunge foot to rear
- Pump lunging knee upward and stay low like in football. Low center of gravity
-Example in this video for you!

4. LATERAL HOP GRASS DRILL (jumping over ball) (for fumble recovery)
- Get lateral movement with explosiveness.
-An important fact in football, if you get knocked down, you have to get back up fast. Get down, get up, get out of the way!!!
-See example here!

Complete each of these moves for 30 seconds on and 30 seconds off for the full 30 minute half-time break.  If you need a little bit more rest time between exercises, break for 1 minute.  And have fun getting into Football shape!
