What is Dumb?...Texting while Driving.

Have you ever texted while driving?  Though you may not admit it, a lot of people are guilty of it at one time or another.  Admittedly, I used to text while driving thinking it would be okay to sneak in a text here or there.  Until it wasn't and believe me the consequences were not worth the unnecessary answer I wanted to send.  I have gotten much better at waiting until I am no longer behind the wheel to send that text.  If it is an emergency I usually try to find a parking lot to pull off to so I can answer the text.  Usually though, anything that comes via text message, is not an emergency and can defiantly wait until my car is parked and I am at my destination.

Verizon Wireless has teamed up with other cell phone carriers in the IT CAN WAIT campaign! The campaigns mission is to spread the word to NOT TEXT and drive.  You can visit the website and pledge to no longer text and drive, I did it!

I took the pledge because of an experience I had myself.  A few years ago I was not paying attention while driving, I didn't even see it coming when I rear ended someone.  Thankfully no one was hurt.  But what if I was going faster?  What if it had been worse then it was?  I wouldn't have been able to live with myself.  Even though no one was hurt, it still effected me financially, had I known then what that split second of taking my eyes off the road was going to cost me, I would not have done it.  Because of my experience, I truly support this campaign.  I decided to pledge because that day I realized how, in only a matter of seconds, your world can change.

Disclosure: I am participating in the Verizon Style Voices program and have been provided with a
wireless device and six months of service in exchange for my honest opinions about the product.
